Here is a bike I restored last month (no rattle cans used) with PPG paint (one stage).Does anyone know if the side-panel in this photo is the same as DKWRACER sells on his website? Tom is not sure if his will work for the 125.Any help or does any one have a used one for sell(any shape)[8D]Thanks

Larry,
The side panel you have is the same one I buy from him...he only has the one design.  I hope this helps.

Nice Bike, yessir indeed, 4.5 in. clearance from the lip of the seat to the pipe, with the step, headed towards the front...

One of these days, I hopefully will talk Tom into reproducing the early (pre-74.5) side panel without the step. My 311 dated 74 250 HS needs a new one. Mike

Very nice job Larry! Thanks again for the 400 crank last summer, just now getting around to finishing the motor and putting the Mint frame together.

Here are some shiny side panels, straight from Austria. Don't seem to have the step Mike talks about...

Jon,
That's what I'm talkin' about. My early red tank 74 uses this type of RH panel. Mike

Hello from Snowy Denver:( Yup another 8 inches on top of the crud.
I would like to reproduce the flatter RH panel. The costs of moulding are becoming pretty expensive, if we can find find 6 to 8 buyers it would help to defer the costs abit....

Tom,
I can supply a NOS Jackpiner right side number plate/cover for your project and even buy one of the finished products.

Tom,
You know i'm in, and will send you my original 74 250 HS panel to verify if it has the same shape around the exhaust pipe for clearance. I know the 125 version had a smaller dimension in that area, not sure about the 175. Mike

I'm interested in 2.  One for a 250 and one for a 175.  Like Mike said, I'm not sure either, if the 175 is the same as the 250.  Ron will have to check for me on the 175.  The 250 is tight at 4 1/2" but it should work if were talking about the measurements from the frame to the angled part of the pipe.
I would like one for both 250 and 175.  And if they're somewhere around Tom's price for side panels, I'll take 3.

About the PPG paint: the tank in photo is OEM gelcoat and the side panel is PPG single stage OMNI: I find that the single stage looks real close to gelcoat. If you move up to PPG DCC paint they can mix it with a larger color specturm when they scan your tank for the color. I have no paint codes as the paint shop lost them. TOM[ dkwracer ] Iam now ready for one of these side covers [:0][:0] . LG

LG, how does the PPG color look in real life? The pics are always hard to tell. It looks great in the photo, nice job. Bad paint store dude! they should always print or at least write out what the PPG number is and label the can. We HAVE to do that in our body shop or get bitched at about labeling (OSHA rules). Please post the code either manufacture or PPG if ya can. Ya never know when that will come in handy...at least its a starting point. Thanks,TTP

Tom,  I'll take 2 myself!Merry Christmas;)
