Comparing frames today, 75 thru 78 250 and 400. I noticed some have center motor mount tabs and some do not. Question? Factory differences or were some removed? The frames without center tabs are very clean, making it hard to know if the tabs were removed. Could use some enlightenment on this subject.

They all at least should have had the center tabs-most High Breather frames I saw by even 91-94 had already been buggered, rusted etc-the MC5 frames always seemed to be less rusty and more complete...but why did'nt I just call you to answer this..LOL

7" and 4" travel? Hmm-that makes 11" Hey! I can live with that.

I have several original 76-77 MC5 frames from 125-400 without the center mounts beneath the engine, and also 2 77 GS6 frames which do not have them. Most people retro fitted them for durability. KTM added them back with the 78 MC5 and the 78 GS6. There has been a lengthy discussion about them in previous posts. Mike

I think it must have been "welder's choice" at the factory...in 3 '77s I've owned, all west-coast distributed w/ KTM badges: 1 MC5 with lower motor mount tabs, 1 MC5 without (a 400) and a GS6 250, again with tabs. All good original frames, not modified, no cutoffs. Who knows?
