Update on the 1979 KTM front numberplate:
I spoke to Don at DC Plastics today and am sending the 1979 KTM numberplate to him for reproduction. It should be available fairly soon, as he had already made me a couple samples of the late-78/early-79 MX-6 numberplate, which is the same pattern except without the oval holes in the handlebar straps. Discussed was including a template for the customer to mark and cut the holes if desired, so that one product covered both applications due to the rarity and short run of the MX-6 models. Mike
Don should be applauded for offering to reproduce a great many of the non-available original pieces over the past couple of years including numberplates, fenders, side panels, and KTM gas tank covers, with a few choices of colors in durable plastic.

Great to have DC Plastics making parts that can't be found any  longer, but their customer service could use a serious makeover, from my experience. Bought sidecovers on eBay that, when rec'd, didn't match each other and an airfilter that wasn't the replacement for the stock one it claimed to be...sent multiple e-mails and requests to send back what I got for what I expected. Never got any reply.

Hope others have been happier--I'm working harder now to keep from needing replacements.

I would recommend calling Don at the number listed on his eBay store or website and telling him about the problem. He is over run with emails and it probably got lost in the confusion. He is a very nice person to talk to and would do what it takes to get your problems corrected. He and his nephew run the business alone to my knowledge. His number is 989-883-3135. Mike

Don at DC Plastics now has the 1979 KTM numberplate listed for sale. There will also be a version without the holes for the late 78/early 79 MX-6 model like the version that was originally used. Mike

Mikey,I emailed Don recently and thanked him for his faithful reproductions of the Falk Enduro rear and also although NOT listed Falk Dirt Champion front fenders that i got from him.You have to email him and ask for the Dirt Champion but it's worth it.Glossy white too,not the grainy matte finish.Put it right next to a brand new in package Hi Point  and it's very close,though i haven't mounted it yet.He's one of the Good Guys...Later,
