Wanted-Willi Bauer (boots)

Hi All,After numerous tries of finding a comfy set of boots that allow use of CTI knee braces i've given up.UNLESS i can find a set of boots like i used to wear in the 70's.They were Willi Bauer Replica boots sold under the Daytona brand name in USA...German made and often worn by the Team Maico MX guys(Bauer,Herbert Shmitz,and more) they were probably sold under different brand name in Europe,maybe Trim or some other name.Basically leather with rubber horizontal ribs running across the front of the boot in a v shape with molded rubber soles.I loved these boots so much i had them dipped in urethane once they were coming apart so i could keep using them.They were sooo comfortable and didn't come all the way up to the bottom of my kneecap so i could use knee braces and still felt good. Unfortunately one of the dogs fell in love with them too and they are long gone,(chewed to pieces back in 91).To make a long story longer i'd appreciate any leads on finding a pair sz.9to10 or maybe the actual manufacturer so i can search ebay Germany for a pair.Long shot-but if it jogs your memory please reply with info.Thanks Mucho,Ric

They were good boots.  I wore them in 81 and 82.  There is a photo of me in them at the 1981 ISDE Elba wearing them at Tech Inspection.  I still have mine but they are coming apart from age and are non wearable.
