Hi Thom,
I also received the Aug. issue and there they do a story on vintage mx. I also learned that Bubba will be riding a Yamaha next year! I know this is old news to some but it stunned me! I thought Kawasaki would never let Bubba get away!!

Is Reed jumping ship or are he and Bubba going to be team mates?

James Stewart will be riding for L&M Racing (Chad's team for the last two years), and Chad will not be. Chad has, at some point, talked to Suzuki.

I could be wrong but the deal with Suzuki also fell through. Chad said that he might race cars. This was in the Aug. Racer X.

Hi Thomas, I was there for that race. what a wonderful track. actually there are two mx tracks. the vintage track on saturday was on a sand track that was both fast and techincal..The day started out with temperature of about 25 degrees, the ground was frozen but not real hard and by afternoon it had climbed into the 40's There was a up hill cork screw that looked nearly impossible but actually was alot of fun.... Second moto I had lost the shifter on my 440 maico and ended up finishing the last two laps with out being able to shift.. I was in second place and the third place guy had gone down on lap one.. most of the track was no problem but that up hill cork screw was going to give me some trouble. with the help of my clutch I made it and still managed to hold off third place... what a day.... Sunday was a different track, it was fast and rough. but it was good.... Tim Kennedy runs a first class race, I saw things there I have never seen anywhere else... like all the major corners were posted with a number so that it would be easy to direct support staff if there is a problem on the track. Every corner worker had a walkie talkie...not to mention there is a layout of the track that is posted and each corner is assigned to a specific worker.. that way you know who is where and who to call, and then there is a head flagger that is in control of everyone working the coarse.... Nice job Tim...

what is amazing to me is the fact that reed does not have a ride... what is up with that.... I have always like reedy but this year he has demostrated just what a great rider he really is.... Still I would have liked kevin to win the championship...

Thom,
Chad did receive a offer but he let it lapse on time. I belive the article said a time of 14 days. I also wanted Kevin to win.

Hey, Yep, KTM and Nic Wey, WAYYY big fan. I was doing flips when I heard that he had a ride with the finest. His Dad and I go back to the days of the Jack Pine Lodge motocross track in Lansing MI.(early 70's) Terry rode a Bultaco and Nic was there as soon as he could leave the house. Its kind of neat to watch your friends kids grow up and go fast. Same with Fritz Kling. Shows ya what a little mentoring will do huh. Kids get interested and take it to another level. Easy, TTPaul

I like nick,, I was pleased to see nick on a KTM, I have never met him but He seems like a neat kid... and he is alot better than most give him credit for.... Everytime I look at the results, I look to see how he does, I keep hoping that he will get on the podium. He certainly deserves it....and I think he can do it.... go nick!!!
