And What A Celebration It Was!

Hi Poggers,

I just wanted to take a moment to thank the Penton Family and Paul Danik, and all others involved in the preparation and organizing of the 40th/10th Anniversary celebration.

From the get go, the event was very well organized and continued to run smoothly the whole weekend. I know behind the scenes there were probably hectic moments, but from a participant standpoint, it went very well!

There never was a dull moment and each event held my interest--from the very informative historic bus tour, the entertaining banquet, the impressive parade ride, the comradship, and not to forget, all the great food! :D

I did especially enjoy the parade ride and taking pictures while on the back of Bill's bike during the parade.  Speaking of pictures, we hope to have them posted soon on the website, so look for a message within a day or so. There also was a video camera recording each event (thanks to Reb & Ted Guthrie), and several other photographers who have said they will post a link to the photos taken over the weekend.

Again, thanks to all for an enjoyable and memorable weekend.

As part of the Family, I want to thank everyone who attended the Celebration this past weekend. From my perspective, I don't think the event could have been better, especially with the weather we enjoyed.

I also want to express a great appreciation to everyone who brought memorabilia and motorcycles to the Celebration. On late Saturday afternoon, I made a count of the bikes, and I counted 109 genuine Pentons. There were some additional KTM's as well.

There were a number of photographers at the event, so there will be a whole lot of pictures out there in the future.

Finally, I want to thank Jack Penton and Paul Danik for every bit of hard work to create the event.

Words don't really describe the experience. It was fun filled, laid back, but hectic, informative, interactive, and most of all memorable. Connecting with old friends, making new friends, seeing the "legends" and rubbing elbows with them, listening to the stories and being a part of it. Going to be hard to top this one.  Thx to all involved. Great job, well done.

I couldn't agree more with all that has been said. In addition, my wife, who is not a motorcycle person, thoroughly enjoyed the entire event. We especially want to thank the entire Penton family for their hospitality. Good old Southern hospitality is certainly live and well in Amherst! The fruit spreads at the market and at the farm during the parade were a real treat. Thanks for everything.

Five days later, and I'm still taking it in. That - the 40/10 celebration, and everything about it, was incredible!

For me (as Paul D. would say "one of those guys that bleed green") it was so totally awesome. I can barely believe the places I was at, the things I saw, the things we did, and all the fantastic people I met.

It was over-the-top cool. I have never seen or done anything like this before, not even close. I can not thank the Penton Owners Group enough. They really pulled out all the stops and created such a special event. It will be remembered forever, by many people.

Jack Penton made very much of last weekend, the perfect time it was. I'd like to give a special thanks to the entire extended Penton family. Thanks for your hospitality, and loving spirit. Thanks for letting us get to know you, and thanks for letting us trample around Pentonville.

It's kind of neat to see that time and progress really has'nt altered the old Penton business buildings, or the farm. It was pretty easy to visualize how things use to be, because they have'nt changed much.

I met three new legendary Penton racers from the past. Dan Young, Frank Gallo, and Doug Beam. Each one was so fun to meet, and talk with. I had the most conversation with Dan Young, I just loved listening to his stories.

...and then there was - "The Ride" ! The Police escorted ride past stopped traffic, through the streets of Amherst. Just me and 75 of my friends on Penton motorcycles, on our way over to John Penton's. (and back)
I could'nt dream this stuff up if I tried. :D
POG, Happy 10th, I can't thank you enough for a forever memorable weekend.

A great time was had by all, the market and all of the surrounding buildings and landscape was like a trip back in time to the beginnings of the Penton heritage. As I mentioned to Ted and Reb, having seen the DVD's of the Penton family, it was like Deja vu and made it feel outstandingly familiar. To see the R & D building, and hear Jack and many others telling about what it was like to be there and the many escapades that were almost an everyday occurrence was a great experience.
Many thanks go out to John and all of his family for making this a very memorable day unlike any other!
It was a blast to ride through town to Johns and back and to see Al B riding an honest to God KRP Penton Flat tracker takes the cake! Bob, was that pic before or after the "wheelie"? The look on your face is priceless! Kind of like the kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Mike
