Steel Tank center Stand

Hi guys,

I have some 3/4"OD .065 wall and 7/8"OD .082 wall tubing to make a center stand for my 68 six-day. Of the 2, wich one is going to be closest to the orininal MM size?
I'm thing the 68's were fitted with the bent tubing style center stand like the ones in the steeltanker project pics.
