I agree. I've always thought if most people didn't hear us riding by, they wouldn't care if we were riding by.

Rob,Thanks for passing this on! Like Lew said if they didn't hear you it would be ok to race in your backyard.

It is a shame that they didn't come sooner because I know of a great track in Charleston that closed because of sound levels!! Long live Chisolm Trails !!"race in the shade" was the motto of this track.Big oaks and perfect dirt....man o man it was a goodie!!!

Of course this is yet another angle for the anti-bike crowd to get rid of your NON-ELECTRIC bike.

Signs will soon be posted: "ELECTRIC OHV ONLY" at your local track or favorite riding areas. :(

It never ends with the crusaders, though.  If it's not the noise, it's the wear and tear on Mother Earth.  If we start riding hovercycles that skim the surface 2 feet off the ground and are silent, then they'll complain about the speed.

Sigh...

Paranoia? Is that why I moved FROM Michigan to Arkansas to ride more? I got tired of driving 200+ miles to ride moto-cross in the woods.  Don't get me wrong, MI has some great riding and I miss lot about riding in MI and plan to vacation and ride their next year.

I'll just be bummed when I get told to park my Penton 'cause it makes an "Internal Combustion Engine noise".

In Arkansas I can shoot my .45, burn trash in a open burn barrel & ride my dirt bikes 24/7 without leaving my property, although not necessarily in that order.

The best part?  My neighbors' on the other side of the mountain think I fit right in [:0]

I hear ya Pete, I live in a large metro area and there is a bunch of guys that love old bikes too who all live within 30 minuntes but is there a decent place to ride near by... no way. I hear the use to be but not now.... Several years ago my son and I took our bikes out for a weekend of riding and what we found was that there was some trails that were legal to ride but most were not. Then when we got back to camp, A ranger came into my camp asking a bunch of questions. He wanted to know where we had been that day and which trails we had rode on... it was almost as if he was trying to trick me into saying something wrong. but since I have no desire to get in trouble..  before we took to the trails I carefully researched to find what trails I could ride on... it paid off..... It is too bad I still have to travel so far just to ride... and if I could move to do it, I would.
