Anyone ever buy and use one of these Bing 54's sold on eBay?

Hi Red,
I did not buy them new but have put a couple used ones on some 77 250 GS6's. I overhauled them with some new parts from Bing and they work fine once jetted correctly. I've also found these carbs help the bikes start much easier than with the old tickler system. My reason for going to them was a clearance issue with the stock carb on the GS6. The stock carb uses a spacer and sleeve to connect to the intake hose and had to be installed slightly tilted to clear the exhaust pipe. I was never too keen on that set up and looked for a better way. These carbs eliminate the use of a spacer and can be mounted directly to the rubber intake hose. For me, mounting it on the intake hose puts it approx .5" closer to the engine. That .5" makes a big difference and gets it clear of the pipe without tilting it to one side. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dave!

Was it easy to get them jetted correctly for your GS6?
