Hi Gary,

That bike that Cory is sitting on is one of Kent Knudson's bikes. The pipe is actually a '78 250 pipe that Kent got from Circle F, and I modified it to fit. I had to do a lot of cutting and rewelding, plus I had to make the brackets. The bike runs great, so it was worth the work. Circle F's phone number is 713-467-1488.

That is one fine looking bike. Does a stock tank hit the pipe? How much did it cost? Did the muffler come with it? I currently ride a 76 mc5 250 with a fox pipe. It is very similar, but shorter on the back end. This setup looks like it would produce great bottom and mid- range power.I am setting up a 74 H.S.for vintage mx and don't like the power characteristics of the stock pickle pipe. You just motivated me to continue on with the 74. Thanks for the great description and pictures. My mc5 is on the RaceTech web site if you want to see it.     Thank Again     Gary

Since I've built the pipe, this bike has not had a stock tank on it, so I don't know if would hit or not.

Kent bought this pipe 2 or 3 years ago, but I don't know what he paid for it. The silencer came with it.

Here's Circle F's website: http://www.circlefexhaust.com/

I've seen your MC5 on the Race Tech website. Nice bike. Those rear shocks look really trick.

Gary K - so YOU'RE the owner of that fine looking MC-5 on the RaceTech site.  Did you have RaceTech "do" your forks, w/gold valve emulators, etc.?  If yes, whatta ya think?  I had them do my front suspension back in my roadracing days....

BTW - the Pentavarna team runs some of the best looking machines in the country.  Got to see them up close at VMD this year.  Very Nice.  And fast. Hey Mr. Roach - did Adam G. start the vintage CC on Friday or not?  I thought I saw him at the starting line, but didn't see him in results..or least the 200 class results.

I certainly saw Pat G. in the class results - and mistook him for the time as Tom Flores, but THAT's another story.  ;)

Yes they did the forks too. But the springs came from Cannon Racecraft in oklahoma city. I am very pleased with the whole setup. It's probably my favorite mx bike of everything I've owned since 1966.  KTM didn't cut any corners when they built the MC5 engine and frame, and the short comings in the suspension can be corrected easily with todays technology. Thanks for the nice comment on the bike.    Gary

Yes, Adam did start the race, but he didn't finish a lap. That bike has a PVL ignition, but in our haste to get everything done the day before leaving for Mid-Ohio, apparently we didn't get one of the wires plugged back onto the coil correctly, and it came off on the first lap.
