Wanted, the above in nice shape.  I have a very nice engine, exhaust and tank.  Want to build a rider for my son

I have a 76 Cross Country 175/250 chassis that I may not get around to, if you are interested in a KTM engine chassis. It has the straight leg ribbed Ceriani 35MM forks, tripple clamps, swingarm, airbox & boot, seat, Carle Cranke chain guard, and new DC Plastics side panels. I can always use the 250 engine on another project when Gary gets around to rebuilding it. I painted the frame, but the rear curved part of the frame loop is bent and I have a section to replace it with. Mike

Kip,  Which engine do you intend to install in the rolling chassis;  Sachs or KTM?  I know where there is a nice Sachs high breather frame which I think is either a 73 or 74.   Only difference which I know is the rear fender tabs on the loop.  joe

Michael,  If Kip is not interested in the KTM chassis (since you offered it to him first...), I might be interested.  I would like to build a Sachs/KTM CC.  I know the Sachs inside and out; don't know much at all about the KTM engines.   Bike would have a nice suspension set up.  I think Ron has an original one.  Joe

Joe,
The 76 Cross Country 175/250 frame is a lot heavier chassis than the Sachs frame. I am not sure how much trouble it would be to put a Sachs engine into the high breather KTM frame, or whether it would be worth adding the extra weight to a Sachs powered bike. Mike

Kip,
I have an early (312) 74 250 HS frame that has had a couple of repairs to brackets that you can have if you only need the frame. Mike

Lay down option preferred, a "75" 0r "76"GS will work too as they are almost the exact same. Prefer something I don't have to cut and weld on, getting lazy in my age!

Gary Roach

Kip,

I have 2 race bikes that are the '76 Cross Country chassis like Michael has. Since it's the same frame as the '74 model, the only thing I had to do to make it vintage legal was to put in a set of '74 dampener rods in the forks.

The 76 Cross Country 175/250 chassis with the straight leg ribbed Ceriani 35MM forks, tripple clamps, swingarm, orange airbox & boot, wiring harness, seat, Carle Cranke chain guard, and new DC Plastics side panels, Preston Petty Orange MX rear fender OR Preston Petty white IT rear fender with matching Preston Petty tail light, and an orange newer KTM orange front fender with numberplate, or I probably have a white front fender if you want to go that route. The frame is straight and nice, painted with Duplicolor Ceramic 1850 and clear coated with the exception of the bent rear frame loop and includes a replacement rear loop. Without wheels $400 or best offer or a little more with Sun wheels. Mike [email protected] ph. 618-553-1346 Newton, IL. zip 62448

Kip, if you haven't found something to your liking, I have a nice straight, rust free 75 frame (Bare frame/Lay down option) and swingarm. I've already repaired the rear loop and that's all it required.
$125 plus shipping.

OK, Kip, I looked around the shop this week and found a set of wheels and a seat to go with the 75 frame if you're interested.
Probably $$300 for the frame, seat and wheels. I have a set of 75 forks but they would be another $175, I'd just as soon not sell them!

If anyone is interested, I have a pretty complete 75 Penton 400 project that I'm not goig to finish. Frame, wheels, forks, seat and complet motor with correct Carb/exhaust, tank (Watermelon) and airbox.
