I have purchased Cam II race fuel from my local Marathon Station.  It is blended by Sunoco and is a leaded high octane non ethanol fuel.  I have left it in the tank for a few weeks and looks ok, does any one know if it will cause problems?

I usw Cam2 and have had no problems as of yet. I mix it half and half with Sunoco 94 and add Stabil. But, I also drain it after use and let the tank air out.

Mike Winter, or other POR-15 users,

What method do you use to prep the tanks for painting with clear POR-15?  The POR literature suggests a "Marine Clean" product for removing fuel residue and varnish, but they only refer to using it on steel. My concern is that the Marine Clean might penetrate the fiberglass and cause other problems. The POR literature also mentions that fuel residue MUST be removed for POR-15 to adhere properly.

Another question - has anyone used POR-15 on plastic reproduction tanks to keep the decals from lifting?

Thanks for any help,

Jim Dale

Do a search on POR-15 and you can find explicit instuctions on the use of POR-15 Clear. POR-15 will NOT adhere to plastic tanks and I recommend this ONLY for use on Fiberglass Tanks. Mike

Thanks Garrett and Mike,
I will try to be more thorough in my research before posting questions. The POR-15 dealer that I ordered from stated that it will work on plastic, but I trust the members here to have tried it and to know that it will not adhere. I do have several fiberglass tanks that I will be treating per Mike's instructions.

I can peel POR-15 out of the plastic mixing cups that I use, so adherence to plastic is not acceptable in my opinion. Mike

the search engine is great, but, please ask if you have a question.  Like I stated these guys are the best. TRUST ME,  I've asked every question imaginable.

I posted a month or so ago that Kwik Fill gas, available in Pennsylvania, didn't contain any ethanol but that has changed in the last few weeks. Hope I didn't mis-inform anyone.

I have had several questions from Poggers on the POR-15 used on the tank I have on eBay so I am bumping this up.  Hope it helps those that have not already seen it.

I used to use Sunoco 110. But no more. On my bikes using either 40% race/regular or running it @100% made it run hot. Using a 32:1 mix.
