Winter POG meeting at AMA

I wonder if we could possibly rethink the annual POG meeting at the AMA in Ferbruary? It seems as if old mother nature always has a few tricks up her sleeve. Wanting to attend this wonderful event I am always hesitant to commit time and resources when the weather can instantly turn bad and be dangerous to both people and property. Why not April or May? All would be the same, just more tolerable weather, and maybe more participation. Just thinking out loud, Any other thoughts?

Ditto!  I vote for April or May.  We received 8" of snow fron 0700 to 1500 and "0" driving visibility the same time.  I made a mistake of driving it last year but something told me this year to stay home![]

   Never again this time of year for me !!

i made the 970 mile round trip from NJ,

the ride out was OK, but the 30-40 miles of white out conds. on the ride home in the dark followed by not knowing if the road was wet or if it was black ice for the next 100 plus miles made for a true white knuckel event !!!

IMO, we need to have a change here, too many members opted not to make the drive, not from desire but from a Safety standpoint,

we need a date change !!

This has been brought up before, but how about moving a couple of the Thursday night meetings to a weekend? Anybody that has to work Friday and has any distance to travel makes a Thurs meeting tough to justify. Start the meeting at 10am then have an after meeting meeting at a local restaurant.
As for the Meeting yesterday, if I knew the driving conditions back to my house on Sat evening, I might not have gone. But having been there to be part of it, makes the drive home tolerable. {9 1/2 hours of snow} What we were part of really doesn't have a price, and certainly makes up for alot.
