Just a reminder....for any procrastinators....

April 30th. is the last day to get your Swapmmet Vendor Application form turned in to the AMA in order to retain your spaces from last year.

Anyone know who the Marque is for this year?

Kip Kern

Not sure about the featured Marque but I sure hope Christina Aguilera doesn't sing the National Anthem prior to each day's events[B)]

They are lagging on the Marque, usually it's announced by Feb.

If you order your tickets ahead of time there is a significant savings.

Can you camp at a vendor's site, or do you have to camp at the designated camp sites?

It states on the Swapmeet Vendor Application that camping IS allowed in your vendor space.

I don't post often here, but do vist.Maybe I'm wrong, but it would be a hard to put something together for the featured marque before July.If the AMA has one selected, sure would like to know.Jack?

They sell pre-entry tickets for $10 less, then charge $9 to mail them out, so be prepared to buy them for your friends and mail them out yourself. Mike

Mike,

Thanks for the heads up on the extra charges.  I just went to the Mid-Ohio site to confirm what you said and sure enough there is an  $8.99 charge per order.

Because I'm not that good with math, someone help me out. Last year if you were an AMA member your swap meet vendor spot was $125.00 and you received two weekend passes. This year the cost was reduced to $100.00, thank you. So lets do the math, you buy two weekend passes in advance to get the discount, plus shipping of the tickets, plus the swap meet spot, comes to a grand total of $179.00. And if you wish to have your vendor packet sent in advance and not stand in line at the will call gate, that is another $40.00. As they say down south they must of seen us coming. I know it is not nice to complain but with times as hard as they are, "$4.00 gas," is this the best someone could come up with? Yes I did purchase my tickets weeks ago and yes I'm still waiting to receive them, they, Mid-Ohio said maybe next week, i.e. three weeks after the fact. Thanks for letting me vent!

Kevin,

Last year VMD swap meet spaces were $175 for AMA members and included 2 $35 weekend passes, a parking pass and 2 overflow parking passes and a couple of barbeque dinners. This year a swap meet space is $100 which includes all of the parking, camping and dinners. You can now purchase the number of tickets you desire independently. If you choose to purchase 2 weekend tickets that is $70 plus $8.99 for shipping and handling. The difference between last year and this year is $4.99. If you purchase more tickets the difference becomes even less.

The $40 shipping charge for swap meet packages is a clerical error and will not be charged. The receipt and info for the swap meet will be mailed at no charge.

Mid Ohio process tickets in batches as opposed to one customer at a time. They print tickets, specific to VMD and the orders recieved, package and ship them in large batches. This is efficient and has been a reliable process for years. Kevin I am sure you will recieve your tickets well in advance of the event.

Please consider that rising costs for gas and everything else are the same for everyone. The AMA, Mid Ohio, the Demo trucks, vendors, police, security, ambulance, helicopter, food vendors and virtually everyone providing services to the participants at the VMD are paying higher cost, yet the cost entry and a vending space is nearly identical to last year.

This is a great motorcycle event and 4 day weekend with so much to do and see for a price less than many single day events. Plus you have an opportunity to sell to the largest motorcycle swap meet croud in the country.

I hope you all come, have a great time, and make a few bucks or spend a few at the swap meet.

See you there,

Jack

Last year I had to pay $450 for the same 2 spaces I previously had for the prior 2 years because they lost my prior registration information & didn't get to pre register. I am just glad that they got it right this year. Mike
