DO your covers just need painted?

Pete

Hi Mike, thanks for replying to my post. The
answer to your question is yes. They are in good shape, and just need refinished, they have
some small scratches, but thats it.What should
I do to make them nice?

Pete,
we found that glass beading worked the best and the quickest. But a small suction sand blaster with the pressure set at 90 lbs. and a bag of play sand from Home depo worked almost as well. you need to use a screen to sift the sand and get the big stuff out.
then gently work the old paint and any corrosion off. either way, glass or sand , you need to clean the cases up with hot soap and water. get them very, very clean. the glass or sand dust left behind is death on a motor. then we wiped our covers down with acetone and  used the PJ1 KTM silver engine and Barrel paint.

OR you could take them to a sandblaster and have him glass bead and paint them. GM truck bumper silver is pretty close .

Mike & John, Thanks for the advice. I don't
know which way I'm going to choose, but at least now I have some idea. Thank you!
