Mine is a white sweatshirt with green crest in front and built for champions on back. It is also filled with tiny patched holes and way to small around the belly.  I am lookin for a new one.

Hi all....just came on here to sell a bike and I happened to see this post.  Regardig the Jerseys with the crests...I have one gold and one green long sleeve jerseys, never worn,  still in the original plastic package.  Also found a dark blue sweatshirt and a red sweatshirt in almost new condition with Penton on the front and Bohn Cycle on the back.  Also found two green and a gold jerseys that are fairly used in the same box with an original Penton watch fob and an orange Hi-Point Enduro timekeeper/counter that's never apparently been even put on a bike.  Still got the instructions with it too.  Neat stuff...I had no clue this stuff still existed until I started to pack up to move.  How about a speedo drive and cable that apparently came off a 175 jackpiner?  Is this stuff worth anything??  I'll keep looking.  John S.

John,
If you have Bohn sweatshirts you must be from the Pittsbugh area??  If so we are neighbors, I am from Mars,PA. I am interested in the Bohn sweatshirts.  Email me @ [email protected] if you want to sell the sweatshirts. Thanks, Paul

Hi Paul.....yep about a hundred years ago I rode with the guys in the Pleasant Valley Enduro Riders.  I understand Ronnie and Jake are still riding, I'm sure you know them.  Are you still running uphill through the corn stalks to get in shape? ( How's that for a memory?) I guess these things are "collectibles" now...ha ha...I weighed about 130 lbs. then, so they're kinda small sizes. I've lived in Florida for the last 20 years and am active in the Florida Trail Riders.  Currently building a cabin in mtns. near Murphy NC and that's why I'm selling some stuff and packing up other stuff.  When I found the Penton stuff it raised some fun memories with some great people.  Say Hi to all the Pgh. people for me....Thanks for the reply.  John S.

I had a jersey that had blue sleeves and white body with Penton in red I think it was a Viking. It was tuffer than nails, wouldnt mind having another. I do need a green one if and when available.

My favorite was a white t-shirt with green lettering. I wore it til it fell apart. I'll buy a couple.      Big Ron

WOW, This post has been read 1710 times! Clearly there is a demand for this style of jersey.
The issue was discussed at the POG meeting on February 7, at the AMA. Scott Brogan did the POG Six Days Reunion jersey which was very well received. He was present and expressed an interest in doing the classic Green/Yellow Penton race jersey.
The issue of patent/trademark infringement did not seem to be a problem with Mr. Penton, who was present at the time. The only issue is the current tax status of the POG, which does not allow for any income beyond the amount of annual dues received. Ed Youngblood is working rectifying the problem with that issue and it should apperently be looked after in the near future.
So, whether this item is done in conjunction with POG, or independtly by one of the members, it looks like an idea whose time has come. I know I would buy one.
