Guys, I'm looking for a pair of swing arm bushings for a 1970 Steel Tanker that I'm restoring. Al B. is out of stock. Anyone have two they would like to part with or a source for ordering some ? I've looked at several suppliers online and have found some that may work with some modification. Thanks for the help.       - Cal

I have the same problem with my '70 Steel Tanker. A friend of mine who is an expert machinist as well as owning hundreds of vintage bikes, said a bronze bushing was the "hot ticket" back in the day. He said that if I brought in the swingarm and the bolt and he'd turn a bushing for me. I'm sure any competent machinist could make one.

I had purchased  some bronze swingarm bushings for my Rupp from a bushing suppliy house but they did not fit, too small. Had a local machine shop make a couple and they seemed to fit just fine.

Thanks for the feedback, I may need to go the bronze bushing route. In the meantime another long time POG member is looking through his inventory to see if he has an extra set. There is also an option to have some custom isolated rubber bushings made by Bushings Inc. This would be a last resort however.

I think so Dale, looks like Santa Jake has a nice cache of Steel Tanker stuff. I've asked my machinist buddy to make me up a bronze set.       :D
