Tires for 70 Steel Tanker

Looking for tires for my 70 Steel Tanker restoration project #V3176. I would like to stay with a period correct tread pattern. I know that many have used Chin Sheng but the 3.50 x 18's are now almost impossible to find. Any suggestions on what brand to go with? Thanks in advance for any help you can lend.

New 350 x 18 Barum's seem to be available here and there...and certainly are considered period correct.
Swap meets, Ebay...keep an eye out.

Perfect fit for the rear.

Just a word of caution on a well discussed topic.  Different manufacturers provide different actual widths for tires with the same markings.  In other words a Barum or Pirelli 3.50 width are larger usually due to the side lugs.  It's always best to identify the inflated width to avoid clearance issues.

Richard, Dale, thanks for the reply. Dale, to you know if the Barum's  will  work on the tankers? Sounds like there may be a clearance issue with the chain guard. I run in to this frequently with the Metzlers I use on my CMF bikes.

I have found the Duro HF355 in 4.10 X 18 to be superior to the Chin Sheng in appearance and performance. Absolutely no clearance problems on the Steeltanker chain guard. They are also easy to find.

Bill, just looking at Duro tires and wanted to make sure I have the correct one your referring to. I see an HF335 in a 4.10-18. Is this the one you are referring to? All I can find on the HF355 that you mentioned is a 5.10-18 ??      Thanks

Hi Cal: My mistake. The tire I was referring to is in fact the HF 335 in 4.10 X 18, not the HF 355.
