Sounds like a good deal.  Frame is pre-70, no bracket for downpipe.  Needs tank, fenders, pipe, rt side cover, and some seat rework for most of major needs.  Why are these bike always never close to me on the gulf coast?

Isn't that the down pipe bracket just below the swing arm? I was thinking '70, maybe '71 but definately not a '73.
Some one was posting on here looking for a west coast Penton recently. Well, there has sure been a few listed here lately! I got enough for right now. When the weather breaks, I'm doing a freshen up on my brother's '71 Berkshire.
  Type at you later,

You're right Dan, stupid me.  I guess I thought the brace was further down the tube.  The craigslist pics are too fuzzy for viewing the details.

Nice project, Not too far from my son.  If I was living out there, I would buy it and restore it!

Seems to me those boots alone would get a nice price on Ebay if the new Penton owner didn't want to keep them...
