All,
(SOLD)
I have a 1977 Penton 250 project that I am going to sell just because I have so many in the works now and it's just difficult to keep them all.

The frame number S/N# is 701 00140, The engine number is 6-5412814. When I first saw this bike the paint spot on the triple clamp intrigued me. There are also small safety wire holes drilled in the head.

This is definitely a project bike as you can see there are items missing. I wanted to list it here first before Mark's Swap meet,Craigslist or eBay.

It's interesting in the fact that it has the cylinder fins trimmed like  referred to in a previous post some time ago. Mike

Mike,

Do you know any history of that machine? This link should take you to a photo of Jack's machine that Carl did the port work on...check out the cylinder fins.

Paul,

I have researched it and have been unable to find anything!

The only clue I have is my Uncle Jim Fogle has lived in Lancaster,Ohio for a long time and I found this bike there. Uncle Jim I believe had some support from Penton Imports in 1977 so it's possible this could be one of his since it has the shaved fins, Tech paint on the triple clamps and the small holes drilled in the head.

I just hope someone see's the possibility in this machine and brings it back to life.

Thank you for your insight.

I sent you an email. I am interested in your bike.

Gary,

I didn't receive any email from you? I checked my Junk email and it wasn't there either.

It's easy to misspell Scholl...

Thank you,

Paul, you're exactly right.

For those of you who don't know this, on any of the cylinders that Carl Cranke ported for Jack, Jack would cut the corners of the fins off with a band saw so that he would recognize it.

Here's a close up of Jack's '77 250 with a Carl Cranke ported cylinder.

A couple more of Jack's trademarks were that he would paint the axles orange so that he could easily find them on the ground if they ever had to be removed, and also, on the left rear chain adjuster, he welded the wheel spacer to the adjuster so that it would make it quicker to remove and install the rear wheel.

It might just be me, but you don't see a lot of folding brake pedals..or do you ?  Just point with your mouse to the brake pedal and click and the photo will enlarge.
