I am working on a 1974.5 to 1975 6 hole swing arm. need a little help on how to get roller cage bearing out. in order to weld where chain has worn groove in swing arm. also looks like it had oil in there. how much oil goes back in and what type of oil.

thanks

I remove the needles and then use a die grinder with a small carbide bit to grind through the shell of the bearing and then they come right out.  Once it is all together, remove both of the small 6mm bolts and fill the cavity with oil, about any oil will do the trick.

If the bearings are still good, why go through all that work? Why not put a piece of protective material on the swingarm instead?  KIS.

I've taken a lot of them apart, but I've never found one that had good bearings in it still. Mike
I did have one MC5 where they replaced the bearings with bronze bushings.
