I am currently building a 77 250 MC. I have installed a 78 race ready engine and was in the process of putting on a pipe, that was thought to be from a 250 MC, but I am not so sure now. I have twisted and turned the pipe with no luck. The exhaust manifold collar is the the same diameter and matches up with the pipe and the tab seems to be in the right place. The pipe has had some shabby weld jobs from what it looks like.
If anyone has any helpful info I would love to hear!
Thanks!!

First of all one of the worst design traits of the Pentons was the exhaust and the getting it on and off.  The carb has to be tilted just right and the rear shock on right side has to be off.  Even then the planets have to be aligned. LOL!  That being said your pipe from my view appears it might be from a 74-75 and not an MC5. The MC5 has a manifold that angles down a bit and the earlier pipes came more straight out.  Not sure but a possiblity.

From the looks of the pipe that's a 75 Hare Scrambler pipe, according to the mounting bracket above the cylinder head, not an MC5 pipe. The MC5 pipe has a less rounded front section.

Its definitely not a 74 pipe, comparable to one on my 74. T

I guess with that being said, does anyone have a 77 pipe they want to part with?

I have one but I'm not sure that I want to part with it it has a creased silencer that might be able to be straightened by heating it up and removing the end cap to push outward on the crease.

Which town? I was just in Maryland last weekend and had the pipe in my vehicle. I do bike transports and go out to Fallston Maryland quite often to a friend of mine that restores Vintage RM Suzuki's.
