Anyone know of a clear liquid that could be applied to magnesium to keep it from tarnishing / oxidizing? Not paint or powdercoat, just something that could maybe be rubbed in with a rag. I get cases looking really good, bare metal & within 2 weeks they've turned to a dull battleship gray.

I have heard ACF50 will but have not tried it.

Car restoration guys use what is basically transparent shoe polish on bare metal parts and supposedly lasts a long time. Heard that if you warm it or even melt it to a semi liquid state and brush it on it will protect the bare metal very well. Never tried it on magnesium but can't see why it wouldn't work like it does on bare steel, cast iron etc.,
You could try it on a test part or even part of the item to see how it does.

Thanks for responses, Larry, just what is ACF5O ?

Google it and it will come up.  The European KTM guys use it alot to stop mag rot.
