I'm looking for some info on the following
steel tank I found at a salvage yard in St.Louis. It is painted just like the steel tank 125, except the color is a metallic blue. It is not a repaint, but factory. On
the tank, below the gas cap, there is a decal
that says ISDT, Italy 1968. John Penton-Ohio,
Tom Penton-Ohio, Dave Mungenast-Missouri,
LeRoy Winters-Arkansas. Is this some kind of
commemorative or a "take off from a six days
bike. The tank was on a machine at some time
as evidenced by the wear around the mounting
tabs. Any info is appreciated. I can e-mail
pictures. Bill

I also have a 1970 Penton with the blue tank.  Mine has "Jackpiner" on it instead of "125 SIX-Day" as most of the blue tankers had.  I have literature on this bike dating 1970.  The literature states " Introducing the new Jackpiner"  The blue tanks are rare and I have only seen or know of a few.  Ill  bet Doug/Paul can shed some light!  The "Jackpiner" wasn't actually sold until 1972 and it had a KTM engine in it!

Bill;
You didn't mention the color of rht side panels. White or chrome?  You do have a tank that there were very few of, maybe 150-200 with the white panel, the chrome panel with the Penton 125 Six Day Decals, the top decal and with tool bag mounts.  Is the one that came to me, on a bike as a present from the Mr."T" in KTM.   That bikes whereabouts is unknown at this time.

The insets on the tank are white. All striping is like the green tanks, I think.
