Hi!
This week i buy an old Penton-KTM. I dont know what year of build and other specs. Can anyone get me help. I wish to rebuild it. Which is the approximate Mark value in this status and in restored status. Thanks in advance. Greetings from Germany, Patrick

Looks to be about 75-76, the serial number should identify the year of production.
Should make a nice restored bike.
Value depends on quality of restoration.

To me it looks to be an early 76.  The brake stay chain guide is one clue and the engine braces with the holes are another clue.  Looks like a nice find.
Good luck with it.

BTW:
Frame-Number: 509 85937
Engine: 5-5100012
Carb: Bing 84 (84/32/111)
Shocks: 2x Bilstein (think its maybe not original)

From the serial number it looks to me that it was made in September of 1975.  Probably makes it a 76 model.

Yes, manufactured in Germany. In the 70th and the early 80th they build many (better!) "Shocks" for replacement the original parts. I think at present has Bilstein only Shock absorbers for Cars / Racecars. You can find it on http://www.bilstein.de

hello patrick i have the same model ktm which
seems to be a little different from yours. going by
the engine number yours is older than mine, the
airbox on yours looks to be plastic whereas mine
is alloy .does your left side panel seal the airbox
or is the airbox one piece ,ithink mine is possibly
a76but looking at the difference in engine numbers it might be a 77. if you look below the
front sprocket on the caseing there is a stamp
with ayear imprinted in.i think perhaps if it says 75
it was built for 76 , at the moment larry is going to
have a go at putting a date on mine speak soon

Hello, the aluminum air boxes were on 1977 models, the 76 ariboxes were white on all model and the 76-75 air boxes were the same color as the tank and side panels. This bike looks to me to be a 75

After taking another look at the bike and noticing that it`s a 125 KTM engine it has to be a late 76, I think thats when KTM made the 125 motor, colored air box confuses me. Maybe it`s because it`s european and not a Penton as all 76 Pentons were orange w/ white airboxes

In the above message I ment to say the 73-75 air boxes were tank+panels color

hello again i have just visited the ktm web page
and the 76 enduro has a different chainguide and
the right hand engine case is fully enclosed around the sprocket in one piece. i have looked at my engine and there does not seem to be any holes at the back of the caseing to take a one
piece case, has yours
