If anyone is interested in beefing up their stock 100/125 sachs clutch here are some pictures on one way to do it. We have used it for 2 years with no downside except a heavier clutch pull on the lever.
It's in my photo album on Yahoo. Please let me know if the pictures are not readable.

John, Do you know where I can get new clutch plates for my "B" engine ?
I think they are starting to slip a bit.

Dwight,
I got my last set from Martijn. The Surflex # is S1147/B

The Hammers should have them also.

Leo or Burchard can get them in Germany still .
They are still used in an under 100 cc engine. Bruchard told me the model and make but its been a while. He gave me the web page for a big distrubitor that carried them but it was in German and i never could figure out how to find anything on it chuckle chuckle.
I passed all that info on to Al. Surflex only makes up a run when the have enough orders to  make 10,000. They will only deal with someone they know .

Sachs actually made a factory 11 spring clutch assembly.  I saw two of them on the early Sachs 175cc engines I rebuilt.  I don't know where to locate one anymore but I thought it was kinda neat and made sense with the 175cc engine.  The rest of the engine internals were the exact same as a later 5A with exception of the cases being machined out for the Sachs 175cc cylinder to drop in.  I should have taken photos and notes but it didn't seem important at the time. :(

Kip,
Leo sent me a parts list and engine blow up for the 175/6 before we started my project. Would you like a copy? Some of the gears have different #s than the A/B engines but that may be tempering in the steel. The 6202 small main bearing was replaced with a NU202 roller bearing  thats the only difference we have been able to find so far. That and the extra clutch springs.
I am in the process of changing out the 5 speed box for a 6 . The 5 speed gears and shift key look good with 2 Reunion Rides and 600 miles on it. It looks like the stock Gear sets off an A/B motor will hold up fine if you shift it properly.
