I noticed that no one had posted wishes for memorial day, I know that ron usually does and he may have been pre ocupied.... I have a few thoughts that I thought I would pass on.... Like most americans Memorial day has a way of coming and going with little notice. I have in times past particapated in Memorial day parades but some how the whole thing gets passed off without  any real thought... That is until this year... My Dad is a Pearl harbor survivor. His ship went down. It was one of the first. fortunatly no one perished.... a miracle I think....but alot of others on other ships did not... why do I bring this up? This Memorial I was in Hawaii for Memorial day, My brother and I brought my 86 year old father to see the Memorial and to Learn and remember... It became clear to me that the reason my Dad wanted to be there was to remember and to finally pay his respects for the brave men and womem that died that day. 2,389 in total, 49 of them were civilians. bombs fell not only on Pearl but several other places too including down town Honolulu. When we got to the Memorial my Father was treated like he was royality. It is something I will be for ever greatful for.... The Memorial was tastefully done, allowing each of us to remember as we saw fit, It is a Holy place and a shrine to all that is good about America. Thankfully America has not forgotten it Hero's those fallen and those who serve us still, Thanks to all of you have served this country and me so faithfully... We owe you a debt we could never repay!

Thom, check 5/25 posting. A post was made about the holiday weekend. Yes, it would be tragic if we were to forget about those who gave so much for our freedom.
