Hi ,  new member,  although I have been looking through the site for the past 3 years. I have a 1974 Sixday which I plan on bringing back to life .  I bought the bike in the summer of 1974 from the first owner who had it about a month. His mother made him sell it after he broke an arm and leg. His misfortune, my gain.  I rode the bike almost every weekend, trails and power lines, nothing competitive , with close friends thru 1978  until the  first child arrived. The rest is history. I will be asking questions and needing parts . As an aside I just finished (after 9 years ) a frame off restoration of a 69 Datsun 2000. Hopefully this won't take as long.

Welcome Vince!  I'm sure your experience in restoring cars will help a lot with your life-long Penton friend.  Good to know that it survived all these years, and will most likely survive many more.  Have fun and don't be afraid to ask questions!

If you did a frame off on a car, the Penton should be a peice of cake.

Hi Vince, I'm a new member also and just starting a 73 six day.  I'll look forward to sharing some of the experience with you.  Like I've mentioned in an earlier post I work at a plating shop that does powder coating and nickel/chrome plating.  If you need some stuff done I'm sure we can work something out if you're willing to ship parts my way.  Just let me know.  I guess that should go for anyone here for that matter.  We usually do this kind of stuff on the side for cash so it would be reasonable for you guys.  We typically focus on production work but I'd be glad to help out POG members if I can.  Good luck Vince.

Mark, that is good to know... I have a 72/73... (it is either a really late 72 or a really early 73. It has some things that look like a 72 but then there are some things that make me think it could be a 73. I will be working on it sometime in the not to distant future...I still need to coat the frame. I have thought of nickel plating it but I am not sure. It sure would look cool though.
