TOMCHRIS

HI ALL;
STARTING ON MY 175 & AM IN NEED OF A COMPLETE EXHAUST SYSTEM.
ANYTHING OUT THERE?
THANKS
TOM

Rain Man

Hi Tom, and welcome to the Penton Owners Group Forum.  I've rebuilt (3)  175 JackPiners and every one of them I had to do some welding or restructuring "on the pipe".  These particular pipes are few and far in between, and if you see 1 on E bay, get ready to pay, and dont hesitate either!
Al's has some replacement parts forthem too .  MY only spare has a holes in the bend where it comes out of the head. :(
Someone may have one here, keep trying

Tom,
What year Jackpiner are you working on? I have a pipe for the later version, around 74-75 I think, that has the three bolt end cap. It was given to me for delivering a Hercules to the Renunion Ride last year for Ric Emmal. The pipe is sound, but has had a couple of patchwork repairs and needs another one at one of the mounting brackets where it has torn the pipe around the bracket. Overall it looks OK, but is definitely not a show piece. I don't forsee the need for it at this time, so if you can't come up with a better one and don't mind fixing it up, I would take $50.00 including shipping.

Tom,  Check with Kevin @ Circle F  713-467-1488.  I know he has many more pipes than listed on his website (//www.circlefexhaust.com) If he doesn't have one, sounds like there is a market for them and he might be interested in making if there is enough sales to support the development and jig work.  I have his pipes on my Maico and just got one for my CMF Six Day .  Nice work and good price.  If he has one, expect it to take 6-8 weeks.  Worth the wait in my opinion.

Last time I checked with Kevin, he hadn't done a Jackpiner pipe yet.

If Kevin needs a pipe as a template I have a Jackpiner pipe I can donate to the cause. The end that attaches to the manifold is rotted through and the silencer is welded on making the pipe useless for anything but measurements and tooling.

Kevin probably has enough on his plate since he is always 10 weeks behind on orders and he prefers a bike and the pipe.

If you need late 175 pipe, I have one.
It needs repair to the silencer end (the tube needs to be replaced) but Al has the parts needed.
If you're interested just let me know.

Tom,
Since I haven't heard anything about you being interested in the late 74-75 175 exhaust pipe that Ric Emmal gave to me for delivering his bike to the Reunion Ride last year, I am assuming that you are holding out for something nicer, or have a lead on one. If my assumption is incorrect, please let me know, otherwise I will be senging it back to Ric, since as it turns out, circumstances are now that he is needing one him self. Thanks, Mike.

No problem, it's been equally crazy around here.
I just went out in the shop and took a good look at the one I have.
It's very good except for the last 10 inches.
It's got a dent on the top in the very rear.
The diffuser tube (with the threaded rod) is broker off inside.

The two problems can be fixed at the same time, I've done it several times. What you do ist cut the end off, just beyond where the diffuser tube welds in. Then you weld in a new one, I belive Al has them new.
After that, you work out the dent, which is easy as the dented area is the part you cut off and now it's only eight inched long, open at both ends.
Once the dent is fixed, you weld that part back on and you're good to go.

These are getting hard to find, I pais about $200 for the one I bought at Mid-Ohio. I'd probably want about $100 for this one as it does need work. It will make a really nice pipe if you're willing to do, or have, the work done.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Chuck Purinton
