The Penton 125 1971-72 in the photo has an  aluminum frame plate (it's written on 000414).
I never saw an aluminum frame plate on a Penton bike.
Is it possible?

Maurizio,

The bike appears to also have the factory serial number on the steering head.  Possibly the second number was installed by the importer, possibly Farioli, for use in their own book keeping and warrenty work.  What is the factory number?

Paul,
it's written the same number 000414 on the aluminum frame plate and on the steering head.

Maurizio,

Are there any other numbers before the 000414 on the steering head?

There is always the possibility that the frame is a replacement from the factory, I have several NOS frames with no serial numbers on them, the dealer who replaced the frames was supposed to always stamp the number of the broken frame on the replacement, or at least that is what I was told.

Thanks
Paul

Paul,
there aren't any other number before the 000414 .
I think you are right, the frame is a replacement from the factory and somebody stamped that number and attached the aluminium plate.
Thanks
Maurizio
