The Berkshire was out of my price range while racing on a part time job's pay. I opted for a DKW Hornet 100cc instead. Racing District 37 desert on a trailbike really taught you how to ride because you did not have a lot of excess power available. My only complaint about the stock 100cc Sachs motor was that it was a bit of a dog. I got walked away from by the hotter Hodakas and my brother's Harley Baja. A trip to Uncle Donny took care of that and my dog became on of the fastest trailbikes racing at the time.
