POG AND EBAY

I have many mixed emotions on this one, first - I like to "touch" what I'm buying and therefor have never been over to e-bay so the rest of what I say is irrelevant. Second - "Needing" something and "Really needing" something are different from "having to have something" if you catch my drift; I mean perhaps a regular circuit racer who is a shoe-string budget contender probably needs that 5A bottom end more than I do (a lowly bike-aholic with a bunch of basket cases sitting in my garage), even though my Penton absolutely WILL NOT WORK without it. See, I don't NEED the bottom end, the other guy does if he expects to continue his racing season.
Third (no names, no offense)- the guy who says he'll back off because you are bidding might change his mind at the last minute and jump in when he realizes it may be a long time before that bike or part hits the market at that price, so he'll take his prize and offer a sheepish apology.
I guess that's all "part of the game" in auctions!

I have attempted to buy several Penton items on Ebay only to be outbid in the last seconds after being the high bidder for days! What a bummer...
