And reading Motohistory today, I see that both Ed Youngblood and Jeff Smith have returned their medals. Not good.

Weather is supposed to be good this next week, low percentages of rain when any is called for. It was 78* at my house today (Tenn/NC/ I-40 area).

A word of warning. I-75 Southbound has been closed in Tennessee just south of Kentucky. The Jellico Mountain area if you are familiar with the route. Embankment is giving away. They are trying to construct a crossover which would mean one lane each way at best. The detour is on US 25 W which is an old two lane passing through Lafollette Tn and is slow on good days. I-75 has a lot of truck traffic bound for Atlanta and points southeast. Consider your options.

Also this weekend is the NASCAR race at Bristol. This means a lot more traffic on I-81 in the Bristol area obviously. It also means there will be every Tennessee State Trooper and Virginia State Police available on duty, and they won't be in a talking mood.

Good Luck Everybody,

Penton Talk / Dane Leimbach

I never had the opportunity to meet Dane, but the weight of his friend's words tell you what kind of person he must have been.

God Speed Dane, and God Bless the Family.

Take the "Maggie Valley" exit off I-40 East, exit number #20 in North Carolina. It would be about 50 miles to that exit from where I-81 starts off I-40. Road is four lane, drive to the stop sign, turn right, museum is on right.

We had our first frost four nights ago, which turned the trees on. Starting to get the early fall colors, and the higher ridge tops are starting to show red/orange.

I have not had the good fortune to met Dane, but the descriptions of him from people who have, tell you all you need to know.

Dane, you are in our prayers and best wishes and hopes to you.

Thank you very much Karen & Bill, and everyone else involved in the day-to-day operations of this site. I appreciate your hard work.

This board, and POG as well, is one of my "guilty pleasures" I treat myself to.

Dale, I just tried it (put in "frame paint" which I knew would strike gold), and it seemed to work normally.

Penton Talk / Field Trip

It is a great museum. I finally got over there again last summer with my ten year old, Cale, and since it was Father's Day I got in free, which was nice.

Dale spoke to us every time he saw us, and made the effort to engage Cale, which, again, was very considerate because he had a pretty good crowd that day.
Lots of bikes, but the hill climber display and the board track racer display were my favorites. Even have a board track sidecar racing rig which probably was a very exciting thing to race. Highlight for me was firing up the Traub for a few minutes. Amazing sound.

Easy to get to, in a very biker friendly town.

Penton Talk / The Passing of a Dad
March 04, 2011, 12:41:06 PM
My condolences as well during these trying times.

My Dad passed just over four years ago after fighting pulmonary fibrosis for nine years. He was ready to go and is now healthy and whole, but I think of him a little every day.

But with a number like V098, is this the grandfather of all Pendas? Wicked exhaust as well.

Welcome to POG Sean.
