Wanted / For Sale / 1976 175 Jack Piner handlebars
December 11, 2013, 03:29:24 PM
Given time, I have answered my own question.  After ordering several sets of handlebars, I have chosen two.  One set is from ebay and is sold by Legends Motorcycles, Inc. in Colorado.  They have sufficient rise and a short enough cross bar so they can be shortened and still allow ample room for the controls.  The other set comes from Strictly Hodaka and has more rise and a longer cross bar.  I think I can shorten them enough and still have room for the controls.  I plan to try both and see which one I prefer.

I am restoring a 1972 125cc Six Day bike. Can any one suggest a good paint match for the fiberglass gas tank (green)? I would prefer to use a Dupont paint.  Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Wanted / For Sale / 1976 175 Jack Piner handlebars

I need a set of handlebars for a 1976 Jack Piner. I am not looking for an exact copy of the original bars, but would like something close.  Obviously, I can cut down bars that are too wide.  I am trying to end up with bars that are about 30' wide.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Penton Talk / '76 175 Jackpiner Shocks
November 21, 2011, 09:28:14 PM
I have restored my '76 175 Jackpiner. I am the original owner of the bike.  Years ago I enjoyed racing and trail riding the bike.  Now I intend to use the bike in casual competition.  I wanted to put new shocks on the bike and would be interested in what shocks people are using on similar bikes.  The shocks must be AHRMA legal.  Any thoughts or opinions would be welcome.

Penton Talk / Tires Size Conversions?
January 30, 2009, 12:17:10 PM
I am restoring my 1976 Penton 175 Jackpiner.  I need to replace the tires and want to get the proper sizes.  The Instruction Manual for the bike specifies 3.00x21 for the front tire and 4.00x18 for the rear.  What are the current tire sizes that correspond to these specifications?  I am planning to use Metzler MC5 tires.  Comments would be welcome.
Thanks,
Dave

Penton Talk / Jackpiner Swing Arm Bearings
January 07, 2001, 10:18:08 PM
I am currently restoring a 1976 175cc Jackpiner.  At this point, I am replacing the swing arm bearings.  I have the new bearings, but am having difficulty removing the old ones.  I have tried heating the swing arm and tapping on the bearing housing without success.  If there are any "tricks of the trade", I would know what they are.
Thanks,
Davelar
