Still interested in my 79 MC80 175?

Let me know, it did not sell on ebay and I am going to move it if the price is right.

Best regards,
Ron Drake

Wanted / For Sale / Need fenders for 79 MC80
March 09, 2006, 02:56:43 PM
Thanks to you all!  I did contact DC Plastic and they have a rear fender, and said I could use their Tony D for a front.  I'm not real sure what a Tony D looks like, so I will go out on the web and have a look.  I have been away from this type of bike for a while and all I really remember is the Preston Petty line of plastics.

I did not realize there was a fender with the number plates molded in, I assume this fender is a rear unit?

Forgive my being somewhat obtuse at the present time!

Best regards to everyone!
Ron

Wanted / For Sale / 79 KTM MC 80 for sale
November 25, 2006, 10:43:22 PM
I have decided to part with my 175cc MC 80.  It is listed on ebay and local motorcycle publications.  It runs and rides really great and is extremely fast.  This bike has the 36 mm Bing from the factory.  It is not as pretty as it was when new, but I have yet to come across another 175 model.  I am sure they are out there, but not on ebay or other channels I look at for bikes.
I may be interested in a Jackpiner trade, especially a frame-breather, black engine finish prefered. I need a quieter, less radical bike for woods and trails.

Bike has original Metzler tires, and near all components are also original save a brake lever. More details available on request.

Wanted / For Sale / 1979 KTM MC 80 175cc

Selling my 79 MC 80.  It is unrestored, but very original.  It is very possible that these tires are the original Metzelers.  Engine starts easily and runs awesome.  Gearbox, clutch, brakes all function as new.  The rear shocks do not appear to be blown or leaking and I find no damage on the frame.  This bike sat outside before I bought it, contributing to oxidation of the fenders.  They are in one piece, but thin and not very pretty.  Tank is reasonably good, and has been painted sucessfully with white/clear coat paint.  The only issue I am aware of is cracks in the front axle clamps which are part of the fork sliders.  These are magnesium and can be welded successfully by a professional.
I have several jpgs. of the machine and will be glad to forward them to those interested.  This is an extremely fast bike that is also very loud (my neighbors take issue, not I).  I have not seen many (if any) write ups or photos of another MC 80 175cc, some 250's are out there.

I am looking for fenders for my 1979 MC 80 175cc KTM.
Stock one are still on the bike but are showing their age.  Bike still has the original tires on it so I am trying to maintain the originality of the bikes appearance.  I am told DC Plastic may be of help but can't seem to find them on the web.

Thanks in advance for any help!
