Hello

A friend of mine has a Wassel and we are trying to figure out the year it was made. The frame # is W553ST. It has a 6B motor.
How many years were they made?

Thanks

Dale

Penton Talk / Sachs 100cc
July 25, 2022, 09:12:12 PM
Hi all

This is not a penton question, but kind of related since it's a Sachs engine. My friend has a Sachs 100cc BoonDocker. He bought it new; I believe in 69. Sometime in the early 70's he took it apart for some sort of repair. He wanted to take the flywheel off, and he snapped the threads off the end of the crank. The bike has sat since then. He's thinking he might try to repair it. My question is, is there a crank stub still available? Is the 100cc crank the same as a 125?

Thanks
Dale

Hi all
Where might I find someone to straighten a pair of fork tubes. Years ago someone here had done a set for me but I can't remember who.
Thanks

Penton Talk / 152cc sachs

So my friends brother pulls out an old Penton that's been under a tarp for a lot of years. Looks to be early 70's. It's a Sachs motor with what looks like a Puch top end. Large fins cylinder and radial head. What could it be?

Thank you Paul. I knew that you would be one to explain how this was done. My Saracen came out of a small local shop that sold Pentons. The gentleman had an auto body shop and sold the Pentons on the side along with Saracen. Both him and his brother were very mechanical guys and very smart with machines. I have the brothers bike that he made into a 152. Great information.
Thanks again

Wanted / For Sale / wanted 125 six day

Hi Paul
Near as he recalls it was a CMF with plastic fenders. That would be 73-75 correct?
After speaking to my friend and him thinking more about the bike, he thinks it was the MX version.

I saw one with a bike exhaust from a 4 stroke at one of the races. Couldn't hear it running. Not sure if it has any affect on it, but it ran for quite awhile.

There was a small shop near me that sold them. The owners son raced them. I'll bet he has one or two hidden in a shed.

Tom, I have contacted a local machinist. He is asking around for me.

Mike, it's a Waterous pump but I would have to get the model. It's in a 1974 FWD. I'm in upstate NY 90 miles west of NYC.
