Thank you please let me know. I can use the "up-dated" swing arm but would like to have the correct one if possible. If you know anyone looking for a swing arm for a newer steel tanker if I will have one if I find a replacement.

I am getting ready to build my 69 V1479. I am looking for the right swing arm for this bike.
At some point a newer swing arm was installed. I have the steel chain guard that had been modified for the newer swing arm. It is the short steel one.
If you have one and would like to sell it, please let me know. If I can find a 69  swing arm I will have a newer steel tanker swing arm available.

Bill I would check to see what price you can get. It is costing me 450.00. It is an 8 hour drive for me one way so the price seem fair.

Thank you all for your input. I just looked at the side panel and I didn't see anything there the rear suspension is straight up and down as far as the shocks go there are three holes on the swing arm mount and then two holes at the shock top mount
I took some photos but haven't figured out how to post photos

I would bet that you are right as usual when it come to Penton knowledge you are the man.
I will just keep the bike as is.

I was going to call you about this but thought I would just ask the group.
And yes the photo of the bracket that you posted it the one I have.

My bike dose have the large painted head light on it. I have not seen any photos of an early steel tanker with the large headlight have a front number plate.

I am still needing a rear brake rod and the nut and 2 half circle parts that hold the rod to the brake arm.
2 chain adjusters And 2 speedo cables.

I am working on 2 steel tanker projects and I am looking for a few parts that I need to finish them.
For my 69 I am looking for,
1. Rear brake rod complete I have the pedal and the bushings but nothing else.

 For my 70 steel tanker I am looking for

2. I would like to have a set of the steel side number plates.
