Wanted / For Sale / WTB: Very good 32mm fork tube

I just took a set off of a 1972 SD and replaced them with a 35mm set. They would need to be serviced and straightened. I was planning on taking them to a machine shop in town that does a great job straightening forks. If you are interested, let me know. I have the whole front end.

Thank you, I just found out one of our local race shops is hooked up with a machine shop and they will be straightening mine.

Penton Talk / Twisted forks
February 09, 2020, 11:10:23 AM
Thanks, guys. The left tube is bent. Not bad, shows a tad more than 1/8" of air with straight edge applied. The right leg is straight. Since it is a nice tube "no rust/pitting" I'm going to try to have it straightened locally. Now if someone has a really nice 32mm tube for sale let me know. The bike has the wide set forks "6-3/4" so I think the tube is slightly longer than the earlier forks.

Greetings,

I may be of some assistance on the tank, but you can be the judge of that. Please contact me at the email below if you still are in need of the tank.

Penton Talk / Mikuni slide numbers
January 18, 2020, 10:30:39 AM
The higher the number on the slide the leaner the mixture is just off idle. So if you have a right off idle stumble changing the slide may help. Of course check/adjust the air screw first.

Looking for a straight, rust and pit free tube. 32mm for a 1972 125 with the 6-3/4" width fork set. Thanks.

Penton Talk / Twisted forks

So finally got my '72 125 here. Lot's of really good stuff about it. However the front wheel is tweaked pretty good. Now I've fixed a jillion of these in the past but beating them against trees, and a few more civilized methods :)  I have loosened everything up and still can't get it to stay put straight. Any ideas guys? forks don't appear to be bent.

If anyone has a professionally restored set for a '72 125 Six Days I'm all ears.

Penton Talk / Front number plate question
January 18, 2020, 10:40:11 AM
Hi guys/gals, I'm new here but not to the two wheel world. I will be restoring what I consider a Holy Grail MX bike. The '72 penton 125. I managed to find a nice very complete bike that is perfect for restoration. I'll probably be asking a bunch of questions here but rest assured I know how to use Google and the forum search function :)

So first question is: I need a front number plate. OEM was steel, aluminum? and what size were the originals? Are the correct rubber band style mounts available?
