Wow, so hard to believe.  I learned so much from Dane about Pentons, Sachs engines,  and their inner workings. I still have some of the homemade tools he and uncle Ted used in their shop back in the day. Dane didn't forget anything and had the uncanny ability to not only ride the bikes but wrench on them very well. Dane was a great teacher and friend and I can't thank him enough for the knowledge he passed on to me. Every time I see a Leatherman, I think of him!

I remove old seals with a seal removal tool and only replace with Leak Proof brand. Out of the hundreds of sets I have built,  never had a fail or leaker.

Congratulations Sam, you have some big shoes to fill but we know you will do an outstanding job as VP. Thanks to Scott for all your hard work  and effort to the POG and it's members. Congratulations to you both and wishing you well down the trail!

Was thinking about Ron and his bride during these last few weeks of Texas flooding in Kerrville. Sad indeed of all the loss.

Is it true, KTM is financially going under? Just read where they were 3 billion in the hole. I sure hope not!

So sad to hear. What an icon in the off road world. Been to his shop many times and met himself and his son. Great family indeed. RIP sir.

Very sad to hear. Connie was a great lady and always at Ted's side. What a great couple and fine example for us younger pups. RIP

Penton Talk / Re: Penton front brake cable guide

I have restored many Steel Tanker bikes and saw a wire with grey grommet on a very few 68 - 69 models. None on 70 - 71. This was similar to the CZ cable holder attached under the right fork wiper strap but Penton had a hard grey grommet vs CZ just using bare wire
