Penton Talk / Penton Jerseys
February 23, 2003, 09:30:09 AM
Hi Paul.....yep about a hundred years ago I rode with the guys in the Pleasant Valley Enduro Riders.  I understand Ronnie and Jake are still riding, I'm sure you know them.  Are you still running uphill through the corn stalks to get in shape? ( How's that for a memory?) I guess these things are "collectibles" now...ha ha...I weighed about 130 lbs. then, so they're kinda small sizes. I've lived in Florida for the last 20 years and am active in the Florida Trail Riders.  Currently building a cabin in mtns. near Murphy NC and that's why I'm selling some stuff and packing up other stuff.  When I found the Penton stuff it raised some fun memories with some great people.  Say Hi to all the Pgh. people for me....Thanks for the reply.  John S.

Penton Talk / Penton Jerseys
February 22, 2003, 09:16:08 PM
Hi all....just came on here to sell a bike and I happened to see this post.  Regardig the Jerseys with the crests...I have one gold and one green long sleeve jerseys, never worn,  still in the original plastic package.  Also found a dark blue sweatshirt and a red sweatshirt in almost new condition with Penton on the front and Bohn Cycle on the back.  Also found two green and a gold jerseys that are fairly used in the same box with an original Penton watch fob and an orange Hi-Point Enduro timekeeper/counter that's never apparently been even put on a bike.  Still got the instructions with it too.  Neat stuff...I had no clue this stuff still existed until I started to pack up to move.  How about a speedo drive and cable that apparently came off a 175 jackpiner?  Is this stuff worth anything??  I'll keep looking.  John S.

Wanted / For Sale / Jackpine Replica for sale!
February 22, 2003, 07:05:49 PM
Having owned one of the very first 175cc Jackpiners I ordered this Anniversary Edition bike, over a year before they existed, as a trip down memory lane.  I love it, but it's been ridden much less than 100 miles, and only by an old man playing Course Marshall at FTR races in Florida.  Never raced!  Never dropped!   Steahly flywheel, Litz carb., Pro Action suspension mods. It's been in storage since new. I'm moving to a little cabin in the mountains...don't need 8 bikes. I'll keep the hat, bag, mug, and collectors T shirt..you take this primo machine. Make me a serious offer.  John S.  Seminole Fl.
