Penton Talk / ISDT Qualifier entry
March 27, 2006, 03:07:32 PM
Teddy,
I don't have enough riders to form a team. I will either be by myself or with a friend riding one of my bikes. I would not mind being on a team though.

Penton Talk / 1980 GS250 info needed
March 27, 2006, 11:44:24 AM
Phil,
I live in Blue Springs and I believe I spoke to you about your GS at Harpers. I was wearing a blue coat and black rain pants. I mentioned how nice the bike was when you were on the line if ideed it was you. I won the auction for the 80 GS250 and I am in the process of arranging shipping. I would like to call you and pick your brain and swap stories. Could you email me your number? Thanks again for all of the info!

Thank you for the information. I will try to do more research on this bike. The 70's model GS bikes are really hard to find. I will keep an eye out for one.

Penton Talk / New plastics for Penton and KTM models
March 22, 2006, 08:26:03 PM
Thom,
I have not been back to the northwest in a while but I will call you when I am coming back. I sure had a great time talking about the old bikes. My understanding is the 76/77 fenders were the same but changed in 1978. Plastic parts are the toughest as they take the most abuse. With a few people making them now, hopefully we will have waht we all need.

In this day and age it's very heartwarming. Alice and I celebrated 26 this year but 50 is awesome! Congratulations from both of us!

Tom,
Now I understand what happened to the auction. We did not have a chance to visit over the weekend (my fault!) and I did not know what had happened. Although I am disappointed, I am thrilled for your brother. I have bought several items off of ebay for the bike and if he needs something, I am more than happy to let them go. Our topic for our retreat this weekend was forgiveness. In this case, there is no need. What could be more wonderful than to share a passion with your brother. I know this will bring many hours of enjoyment to both of you! Let me know if I can help in any way.

Penton Talk / AHRMA MX opener in Arizona
February 17, 2005, 08:00:20 PM
Teddy,
I feel for you and your ribs.I broke mine at the GNC finals at Lake Whitney in '92 when a guy highsided in to me and I got run over! The bad thing(despite the PAIN!)was my boss at work told me he would fire me if I ever got hurt racing. He was on vacation when I got back and for a few weeks it was all I could do to hide the pain. Vicodan made it a bit easier but hard on the stomach. Tom, when I get my second MC5 250 ready you are welcome to race it. Having two pentons in the same race would be cool. I would feel kind of like a sponsor. It just depends how bad the motor is. The top comes off next week. Oh the horror!

Penton Racing Talk / current vintage races stories
February 16, 2005, 12:58:54 PM
That story is what racing is all about! We live our lives and moments like that are truly living. A great narrative of a day at the vintage races. Keep the stories coming. I will post mine after our first race at the end of March and my first ride on my Penton MC5 250. Should be exciting and I am looking forward to the competition again!

That's the TB I know and have followed! Awesome job! I remember when the Pentons had to compete heads up. The Elsinores were the death nell for the 100 and 125's. They sleeved the 125 to 100cc and they flew. I remember wanting a Penton 100 so bad then I thought I would move up to 125's. And then the Honda came out. Just might have to find me a 125 motor or complete bike now. Hmm...Let's see, a little here a little there. Yep, I can find the money. Now to find a bike. See you soon TB!
