First time for posting a picture on message forum. Let me know if this is style of tank you are talking about?

Bob,
Looking at the rear flange of the tank, it almost looks like a 77 GS-6 tank with the large tunnel. Do you have a pic of the underside? The GS-6 tank only fits the GS-6 and not a regular high breather frame. Mike

Mike,
Then that might be what it is? The tunnel in the rear has a little more of a curvature to it but, I placed this tank on my 76 GS400 and it seemed to fit fine, albeit it needs the felt pads underneath. Is it more rare or difficult to fine than the other style? It also appears like it might hold a little more fuel than some of the others I have seen?

Pictures are worth 1000 words, but the GS-6 tank is rarer and a lot bigger and rounder tunnel than the standard hi-breather frame. If it is a GS-6 tank it would fit too loosely on any other type of frame. I am not sure of the capacity. Mike
Here is a GS-6 tank:

Here is a 76 Cross Country tank underneath that would fit any other hi-breather frame except the GS-6:

Mike,
The underside of my tank is more like the underside of your upper pisture of the GS-6 tank. I have trial fitted this tank on my 76 though and it really seemed to fit ok, but based on info presented is probably more suited for the 77. It's a extra tank I had in my spare parts inventory that I do'nt believe I will end up putting to use.
