I agree with you all. Donny is great to deal with.

Thanks Mike and Lew. I just received notice from Ebay that they removed that steel tanker air box, where the guy wanted $21.00 to ship, for violation of the shipping policy. Someone must have turned him in.

Yep Donny is fair with his pricing and fast with his shipping, and that's from someone who lives in different country :D
I'd also like to say that Kip Kern (Top Bloke) rates are about the best I've encountered [^] :D Thanks again Kip.

Cheers
Chris.

Thanks for the kind words Chris, just shout if you need anything else, someone here can always help!;)

Ran into this problem just last week.I collect Triumph service manuals and came across one that I didn't own.Opening bid was $5,so I go ahead and commit to $11.The ad states that shipping and handling will be determined at end of auction based on zip code. How bad can that be?I don't bother asking shipping charges because I figure I'll get an answer that is posted in the ad.At the end of the auction I end up getting the winning bid of $8.After the invoice is sent do I realize that I'm being charged $15 for shipping from California to Indiana and that is for standard rate.Box arives this week and The postage is $7 but he buys a box from the post office for $3.Now I figure out that I'm not dealing with a Mensa member.I still think idem was listed this way to get whatever he wanted anyway.Mr. gouger could have made more money if he would have used a priority box that could have been picked up for free and sent for $8.10 When I sell on eBay I charge no B.S. shipping w/out a packing fee.I've had many great tranactions from the POG site.Too bad I can't buy everything I need for all my differant types of bikes here.

Someone has a carb for a Penton/Husky on Ebay right now and they have $25 posted for shipping charges.  The motorcycle must be attached to the carb for that kind of money!

Is $15 shipping on a Sachs sidecase cover too high?  Costs $5-$8 to actually ship it.  Curious what the members think about a member charging extra?  If it is stated upfront is it cool to make some extra?

My feeling on shipping, I like to get charged close to what it actually costs.  I feel somewhat ripped off if the charges are twice what it actually costs.  I feel if the part is sold with no reserve, why should the seller try and make more money if he feels it didn't sell for enough, put a reserve on it.  If the charges are posted up front for shipping and the person is willing to pay that amount, then it is no problem.  I have held off on bidding because of excessive shipping costs.  Just my opinion and maybe I'm just cheap!!

Rocket,

I don't know about Ebay in America but I know in U.K. the minimum reserve price we can put is £50.00 which is about $87.00 lord only knows why??? so a lot of stuff can't really have a reserve. Not that I'm sticking up for the folk ramming us for postage!

Cheers
Chris.

Larry:  If it is posted up front what shipping will be then I'm ok with whatever the amount or I don't bid.  As far as $15 for a sidecover, depends on how far he/she is from a post office or UPS.  Say your 10 miles from UPS at $3 per gallon you can rack up $5-10 in gas easily. I always ask if amount is not shown. Ted
