Fame only,no swingarm. I bought this for a project but don't need it now. I would like to get $50 but will consider other offers, I need the room! I wanted to put it on here before Flea Bay.

Where are you located? Is it a MC5 frame? I have been looking for a 77 MC5 250 frame but might have to settle for a 76 to build a 175 MC5. Thanks, Mike

I'm located in the Northeast corner of PA. No, it is not an MC5 frame, I'll post the Serial # soon.

454MRW,

I had this on e bay back in March and you started a thread about it...here is your orignal post.

There is a Penton frame on eBay that has a frame number of 607 91765 that only appears to have one position for the upper shock mount. I thought the 76 would have the dual position upper shock mounting like the '75. I am assuming from the frame number that this is a July 76 frame for a 250-400, but it does not have the GS type backbone, or a 550 MC5 frame number. It looks just like my early (311) 74 Harescrambler frame. Can anyone shed some light on the frame application. Yes, I remember that one. It is evidently a Cross Country frame. I bought a 601 dated 250 Cross Country some time after that. I am really wanting a 77 MC5 250 frame or roller with the dual position foot pegs. Thanks for the info. Mike

The 125 KTM chassis was a bit different than the larger ones in case it matters.  Especially the MC5.

Larry can you explain the difference? I have a 76 dual footpeg mc5 frame. I plan to put a KTM 125 in it because I have one laying around. Thanks

On the 125 MC5 frame there is not as much gussett up front and the pipe mounts for the 125 pipe is different.  The 125 Cross Country early frames were not set up for the multiple shock positions.  I bought a new one of these not long ago on ebay and it was advertised as a 250 frame.

Thanks Larry, I should be able to make the 125 work OK. I would really like to make it a 175 but a 125 motor is what I have.

Anyone else interested before it goes to flea bay? I'll let it go cheap to someone on here!

chicagojerry

larry, do you know if this frame could work in vintage legal form? i need a frame to put a 175 into and maybe this could work. some of the hi breathers were kicked out pretty far in the rake dept. and this may be better yet if the rake is in closer.  thanks for any input, this is still the most informitive message board around.

It's going on Flea-Bay on Sunday.....Someone here must be able to use this.

Larry Perkins

Jerry,

That frame can be set up vintage if it is not an MC5 frame.

Dennis,

If I can find you a similar 175 motor would you be willing to trade the 125 KTM motor for it?  I need one for a project.  Also need a three position shock KTM swingarm in good shape if anyone has one.

Larry P

Dennis Jones

Larry, I would trade it for a good 175. Prefer 6 fin model. The 125 is a 79 model.

Dirtymartini, sorry to hijack your thread [8]
