Fellow Pogger's,
I spoke with Brother Ron this morning and he's itching to get back out in the shop and get to wrenching on his Pentons.I just wish he'd take me along on the trip to Japan!;)He always makes me laugh and inspires me as well.Always there to help or give advice he is a true credit to this Group and helps many of us behind the scenes.I'm relieved he's come thru this in flying colors.Without getting all mushy I'm proud to call this man my Friend.

Paul,
Thanks for your Prayers.  I wish I could come, but I have a trip planned to Japan and I am using this time to get over my treatments.  Take care of Tom's(Penton) Suzuki.  Nice bike.

I had the day off yesterday so I drove down to Kerrville to meet with Ron. Many thanks to Mr. Carbaugh for a great breakfast,a visit to his beautiful home and shop, and lots of comradery and discussion about Penton bikes and motorcycle history yesterday. I started exchanging emails this past winter(spring and summer) with Ron while I was laying on the sofa going through a long recovery from surgery after a bad work related injury and it was a pleasure to finally meet with him.

My prayers are with you Brother Ron for your continued improvement and I know 2010 will be better for both of us! Thanks again for the loan of the John Penton book. Am almost finished and it will be in the mail soon. Looking forward to breakfast on my dime...

Regards

Mark,
Thanks for making the 160 mile trip and it was great to meet you in person.  I forgot to try and track down my Friend that was on the Army Team back in the 1970's.  I will try and get a phone number for you.  Just a little information on Mark as so many times we exchange emails with people in the POG and really do not think about their background or what they do now.  Mark is a retired Army Colonel and is now in Law Enforcement in Central Texas.  Neat guy with a passion for Pentons.
One other thing if anyone has any information or know anyone that was on the Army Enduro Team back in the 1970's please let Mark or me know. I will be in touch Mark and thanks again for the visit.
