Just got back 3 carbs and some other parts from "Vapor Blast Solutions" (Dan) in Santa Fe, NM and the are the same picture-perfect look as Kevin posted in the second post to this thread.

Very reasonable price , $80.

Thanks, Dan!

One word of caution on vapor blasting, hydro blasting or glass beading.  DO NOT use on a bearing surface.  Bearing surfaces must be masked.  All of these processes WILL absolutely alter surface finish and is never good for ball or roller bearings, plain bearing or valve guides.  Yes I know companies say its ok but it is NOT.

I know most blasting processes won't work on machined surfaces, bearings of any sort, crank surfaces, wrist pins etc. Still working out the details of the purchase.

I've used Dan's service and he does fantastic work.  He did all the engine cases and lots of little pieces parts for the Six Days I rebuilt a couple of years ago.  Fast turn around and great work on the carb cleaning.
