After the good showing by Victor at the last race, how many Pentons are going to show up at Glen Helen this weekend?

I will bring the MC-5 again.

How about it: Victor, Garrett, Fred, Chris (KTM)?

Oh, by the way, many of you know Mitch Boehm, the editor of Moto Retro Illustrated.  At the last race at Competitive Edge he "Got Off" really hard fracturing several ribs, clavicle, punctured lung, etc.  Several days in the hospital.  I emailed him a couple of days ago, he is doing better and healing up from his injuries.  I just finished reading the first edition of the magazine and thought it was very good.  Anyone else out there get a copy of the magazine? I think it is well worth the cost, covers a variety of vintage venues, and done with very high quality paper.  Get well Mitch.

I'll do my best to be there, work may have a hold on me.

Hope to see you and bring my Penton Pack.

Look at these varmints!  And who is the Penton rider doing a brilliant job of keeping them at bay? [8D]

Those Varmits just gobbled up another Penton!! Looks like that is LG on his bitchin Berkie.

Hear they maybe coming down to Barber in Bama to gobble up some Southen Berkie's:-)

VICTOR MONZ

I witnessed these guys at Competetive Edge........I think a "tear down" is in order.

They are a fast couple of guys.  Too fast, maybe?

Anyone know if a 500cc BSA piston will fit in a Honda 100 motor ?

There are at least two riders east of the Mississippi that would give the siamese Honda boys some stiff 100cc competition.  I hope they do decide to traverse the continental divide.  I'm thinking of two race numbers.........:D

Gosh, thanks for the compliment Dale.  My plan is to be at Barber with the Berkie, though the weather forecast is not looking good for grass track.:(  You are right about Chuck for sure.  We had an epic battle in North Carolina.

Victor, if those Hondas are too fast should we put some dollars up and see if they go bigger than 100?  I raced a 150 Honda a few years ago in 125 Classic at Mid-Ohio that was also way too fast but I did not rock the boat.  Only time I had a four stroke Honda pass my 125 Penton on a straight away.  Thought it might be a 200.

Larry,
Maybe you can send Buck over to do some engine inspection and "bite" work on their knobbies...[}:)]

I don't see them pre-registerd for Hollister Hills, so we'll see when the Barber entries are posted.

I didn't intend to make any waves, just having some fun.  The Johnstones are sure fun to watch ride and the bikes are kinda neat.

The way I figure, today at my age, if I cheat a little from time to time, maybe a 125 Sachs barrel on my Berkshire [}:)], I don't have as much time to correct my misgivings with God and would sure hate to be at the Gates, a few points short.  Only to have God say, remember that extra 25 cc back in 2009/2010, it got you the points for a Championship, but they don't count here ! :D

All in Fun !

I raced both a Honda SL100 and DKW 100 in the day. My Honda engine was built to the max. It had a Sig Erson cam, high comp piston, Honda 305 carb, and a megaphone pipe. From my personal experience I can say that there was no way that it was on par with a Sachs 100 engine. If the Hondas are punched out, the max they could go was to around 150cc. The only way the Honda could outrun the Penton would be based on rider skill.

Now hold on ;); I know that I beat one of those  hondas. And my true 97cc motor with stock barrel was rubbing tires with the other, it sure was fun there at ' The Farm' ! !   LG

My first race bike was an SL 100 and it was even the same color as these twins. I know for a fact that there is no way with the technology that was around back in the day that one of these Hondas could out run a Berkshire unless it did have the extra cc's. I'm not saying that I ever did that with my Honda, but I know for a fact that it has been done and only with the extra cubes.;)
