Hello all. I'm new to the POG boards but I've been around for a little while. I've had a couple of Pentons in the past as well as my current bike, a 76 Penton 125 MC5. This use to be Doug Bridge's bike but now it's the center piece of my collection.

Really nice bike, but it is too clean!!!  Get out there and ride it!  Welcome to a great site, and bunch of dedicated people to such a wonderful motorcycle.

It wasn't easy but I made it in. I still have yet to even start it since the new top end went in. I did get the Clarke MC5 tank for it and stored away the nice stock tank. I will do some indoor races with it but I'm in no hurry to run it outside here in the blustery Pac NW.

And this is what Doug got from me. A 1973 JP which is a blast to ride.

Salem, OR. They are hoping to do a few vintage indoor races this year. Here's couple of pictures from last year. Sorry for the poor quality.

Notice how clean the bikes stay?

Britt,if I read the statesman article right they are going to offer vintage flat track also? Many was the week when I threw my spare wheel with k-70 on the rear of my penton disconnected my front brake and entered the tt arena at Delta Motorsport Park on saturday night only to return on sunday, bike returned to moto array . I always found the penton frame geometry lends itself well to flat track.Downright fun to ride.

Last year during one of the the "lawn mower" events, they had a knobby class for flat track. It was a blast and I will be doing that again too.

Britt, it is not that bad here in the PNW.. I raced my Penton at woodland on many a muddy day and it ran flawless....and there is one more race at woodland in Nov.

I know but with the Penton, it's a little different. I've wanted an MC5 for 33 years and now that I have one, I want to keep it nice for a while. Besides, I have the Can Am for wet weather mud fest kinds of riding. I rode the last November Woodland mudder and decided to not repeat that again. If I where in a H&T points race, it might be different.

Britt buddy I got my first penton in 1970 it was a 68 and at two years old it had seen it's share of enduros. My nieghbor who had it hit em all.Growing up in Toledo we were near the good uns.The Jack Pine was like a home course.I myself being young stayed a little closer at the time doing battle over the next years with Jeff Greenberg and the Piasecki's at the local scrambles tracks which soon turned into moto cross.Eventually I could afford a brand new 72 six days which I campained for two years then moved up to a 250 Husky cr.There were more bikes over the years but that 72 was my favorite. Many years later kids gone I wanted a vintage bike and it had to Be a 72 six days.I bought it right brought it home fired it up in the shop and man let me tell ya I was cool again, life was right. So if you want to keep it clean I say right on.Heck if you want to sleep with it thats cool too!
