I just received 2 e-mails this morning from 2 of our POG members. Upon opening them - the contents were a solicitation to sell inexpensive electronic devices with links to a web site. I deleted the e-mails and in the process of e-mailing one of the POG members to let him know that his computer had been compromised I may have compromised my computer. In writing the e-mail, a box appeared asking to enter your e-mail password - and without thinking about it, I entered my password to continue writing the e-mail.

Realizing that I have possibly compromised my computer, I have changed my passwords and was going to delete my mailing list, but I cannot access my address list information.

So, if you receive an e-mail from "pentonpartsusa" with a non-motorcycle topic - delete it. If you open it and a box appears to enter your password - exit out and delete it.

Alan,

I received the same two messages and instantly deleted them both without opening them.  They looked fishy and it wasn't worth the chance.

Hope your PC is OK.....

I received the same e-mail.  Mine came under the name of a known POG member.  Not sure how to tell if message is real or con, other than the subject:  something about cheap Chinese merchandise.  I don't know any more because I deleted it, too.

So far my computer is fine. I had trouble accessing my e-mail address list which leads me to believe that my address list was being copied.

I contacted the POG member whose e-mail address was being used as the sender and he made some corrections to his computer to fix the problem.

Boy, encountering stuff like this is not fun. :(
