Just wondering how to set up the choke system on my Bing 54 / 74' 250 HS. I have the small Magura choke lever( 3 in long) , but I never see it in any of the Pentons I see in photo's. Is the choke cable / lever setup even needed ? I have everything but the choke cable if I decide to hook it up.

If its a Bing with a tickler, no, you do not even need to touch the choke. I remove them, but some folks like the choke.

If you plan on running the bike wide open on an extended straight-a-way, then the choke can be used to richen the mixture and save the engine from meltdown, but if you don't forsee that situation it is less important. I have chokes on most of my bikes because I live in a remote area where black top roads are frequently travelled, often at near top speed. Mike
